How to Consume Proteins the Healthy Way
By: Byiban Antony

Many critics protest that high protein diets can compromise the functioning of internal organs like kidneys or that an increased level of proteins in daily meals doesn?t actually lead to weight loss. New researches have shown that in fact high protein diets help maintain a low body weight but also healthy important organs functioning as well as a better regulated blood sugar and tolerance to glucose.

There was no proof of negative effects as a result of diets containing three or four times the normal daily amount of protein. There are a large number of low-carb and high protein diets that have led to satisfying results. An important aspect is where you actually get that increased amount of protein from. If you just rely on red meat, additive ingredients and saturated fats can jeopardize your body health.

If you want to consume proteins the healthy way, you have to turn to more healthy sources. Fresh fish, organic whey or quinoa, are some of the healthier alternatives. Make sure you avoid sources of protein like cheese that has a very high fat level, saturated fat from animal products that will cause damage to your arteries and make you put on weight. Cow?s milk is yet another controversial protein source.

It is said to be high on protein but actually the product marketed by stores has a low protein content related to the volume and it contains homogenized fats that some people state lead to heart and circulation problems. Red meat and beef are best to be avoided because of the modern way the cows are fed. Their nutrition usually contains additives and crops that have been sprayed with pesticides. The red meat you find packaged in your local supermarket is very often treated with preservatives like sodium nitrate that surely doesn?t belong in a healthy nutrition.
